By downloading or using Fiz, users consent to these terms. Non-acceptance requires deletion of the app.
02 Description of Service
The app provides an interactive trivia game experience through:
- Multiple-choice trivia questions across 12 categories
- Category wheel for game selection
- Streak tracking and leaderboard
- Difficulty modes (Casual, Normal, Difficult)
- Game modes (Regular, Single Category, Single Topic)
- Optional expansion pack purchases
- Progress tracking and question history
03 User Data and Storage
- Local Storage: All game data (streaks, answered questions, preferences, leaderboard) is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework, remaining under your control.
- No Cloud Sync: Fiz does not sync data across devices. All progress remains on the device where the app is installed.
- Username: An optional username for personalization is stored locally on your device only.
- No User Accounts: The app does not require account creation or collect personal identification information.
04 In-App Purchases
- Expansion Packs: Optional content packs are available for purchase through Apple's In-App Purchase system.
- Family Sharing: Purchased expansion packs can be shared with family members through Apple Family Sharing.
- One-Time Purchases: All expansion packs are non-consumable, one-time purchases.
- Refunds: Refund requests are handled through Apple's standard refund policy and process.
- Pricing: Prices are displayed in your local currency and subject to change with notice.
05 User Conduct
Users agree to:
- Use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes
- Comply with applicable laws
- Not attempt to reverse engineer or extract question content
- Not share or distribute expansion pack content
06 Analytics
- Optional Tracking: PostHog analytics are enabled by default to help improve the app, but can be disabled at any time in settings.
- Collected Data: Feature usage, performance metrics, and non-identifying patterns only. No personal information or game content is ever collected.
- Protected Data: Question answers, game progress, username, and personal preferences remain private and are never collected.
07 Content Filters
- Phobia Filters: Users can exclude specific topics from appearing in questions. Filter preferences are stored locally.
- Family-Friendly Content: All trivia questions are designed to be appropriate for general audiences.
08 Question Content
- Accuracy: While we strive for factual accuracy, trivia questions are for entertainment purposes and should not be considered authoritative educational content.
- Updates: Question database may be updated periodically to improve accuracy or add new content.
- Expansion Packs: Additional question content is available through optional purchases and follows the same accuracy standards.
09 Intellectual Property
- App Ownership: Developer retains copyright protection for all app code, design, and question content.
- User Data: You maintain full ownership of your game progress and preferences.
- Expansion Packs: Purchased content is licensed for personal use only and may not be redistributed.
10 Disclaimer of Warranties
The app is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
11 Limitation of Liability
Developers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from app use, including lost game progress or streak data.
12 Data Backup
Users should maintain regular device backups through iTunes or iCloud to protect game progress. The developer is not responsible for lost data.
13 Termination
Deleting the app removes all local data. Purchased expansion packs remain tied to your Apple ID and can be restored on reinstall.
14 Changes to Terms
Terms may be modified with updates to the "Last Updated" date. Continued use after changes indicates acceptance.
15 Governing Law
These terms are governed by U.S. law without regard to conflict of law provisions.
16 Educational Disclaimer
Fiz is designed for entertainment. While questions aim for factual accuracy, the app should not replace formal education, professional advice, or authoritative reference materials.
